By no means am I a free man

From temptation and from sin

Not fighting off my demons

Lord let the Holy Spirit in

 

Trying hard not to surrender

To the devil in my mind

Asking God for inner strength

For forgiveness one more time

 

Thought I had all the answers I needed

Thought I could stop all those crazy thoughts in me

But I’m human and I’m weak

So I pray and I seek

Asking Jesus to forgive and to lead

Jesus is all I ever need

 

There are times I made a wrong turn

And I lost my self-control

Running from my Savior

And putting black marks on my soul

 

So I summon God’s good grace

And ask for Jesus to take hold

To guide me and direct me

So I can find my way back home
